VICE-RECTOR FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATIONS PRESENTED STRATEGIC PROJECTS OF KNRTU TO THE RAIS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN

On February 11th, an awarding ceremony of laureates of the prize “Scientific Breakthrough” on the occasion of the Day of Russian Science was held in the IT-Park named after Bashir Rameev. The event summarized the scientific results. The prize was established by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and announced in 10 nominations, within each of them two finalist scientists were selected. Prof. Aleksey Shinkevich, Chair of the Department of Logistics and Management became the finalist of the nomination “Best Scientific Mentor”.

The exposition of KNRTU was presented to the guests of the event by Prof. Ilfar Gilmutdinov, Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovations.

“Our university together with partners is involved in the preparation of the Russian Chemical Complex Development Strategy and is working on a number of industry projects. Including “Materials and Products from Industrial Hemp” and “Superconstructive Polymers for Medical Products”. The first one is dedicated to complex processing of industrial hemp biomass into products of pharmaceutical, food, light industry and agriculture. The second one is devoted to import substitution of engineering and superconstructive plastics and development of the technology of medical products chain on the bases of polyphenylene sulfonel,” – noted Prof. Ilfar Gilmutdinov.

Prof. Gilmutdinov also spoke about KNRTU developments in oil spill response, in particular, dispersants based on biodegradable surfactants and non-catalytic waste-free technology.

At the event, Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that the Republic of Tatarstan holds positions in the Top-3 of the National Rating of Scientific and Technological Development of Federal Subjects and spoke about the importance of science representatives for the formation of technological leadership of Russia. According to Rais, the universities of Tatarstan need to effectively use the opportunities opened within the framework of participation in the Federal Programs – “Advanced Engineering Schools” and “Priority – 2030”.
