From July 23 to August 1, Department of Food Production Technology professors as part of a group of volunteers, visited the A.S. Pushkin Mikhailovskoye State Museum-Reserve.

Volunteers’ work is carried out under the auspices of "Preserving Heritage", a volunteer and environmental initiative of the V. Potanin Foundation in partnership with the Zapovednoe Embassy Foundation.

Svetlana Kitaevskaya, FPT Professor, and Anna Volostnova, Associate Professor, as well as professors and graduates from nine other major universities and research centers in Russia, from Moscow to the Far East, took part in the project.

Colleagues were engaged in the improvement of the museum territory, as well as outlining scientific volunteering and promotion in social networks, attracting tourists both during and outside the tourist season, as the main targets.

"Participation in the volunteer project of the Potanin Foundation allowed us to get acquainted with the legacy of the great Russian poet, feel the spirit of the era and enjoy the nature of the Pskov region, – says Anna Volostnova. – The main resource is, of course, the people who work at the museum, who create a special atmosphere of hospitality and respect for history. In their turn, the members of the group, representatives of universities and employees of the foundation, are a source of ideas and knowledge. Working at a volunteer camp has become for me an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Such events strengthen ties between universities, promote the exchange of experience and ideas. As a result, the participants proposed a concept for the development of the museum's PR strategy, new areas of scientific volunteerism and a number of educational events.
