The KNRTU Inorganic Chemistry department professor Renat Nazmutdinov, being one of the leading experts in the field of theoretical chemistry, was invited to the Institute of Applied Chemistry at the University of Santa Fe (Argentina) in August.
"The main work took place in the group of Professor Paola Quaino, with whom we have long-standing scientific contacts," said Renat Ravilievich. "During the three-week period, a wide range of scientific topics and issues were covered through seminars, consultations, and informal discussions. The focus was on the molecular design of next-generation catalysts for water electrolysis and oxygen reduction, which are crucial for hydrogen energy and fuel cell production. Another important topic was the modeling of the reactivity of quantum dots based on graphene fragments. We also discussed some aspects of spin chemistry and the mechanical properties of two-dimensional materials."
As a result, we are planning to publish our findings in international journals, collaborate with Argentinian colleagues on new research projects, establish a joint postgraduate program, and potentially offer a course on electron transfer theory to students and postgraduates at the University of Santa Fe.
