29.09.2025

Ildar Musin, Director of the Institute of Polymers, and Igor Volkov, Head of the Department of Polymer and Composite Materials Processing Technology, presented a report at the Chinese-Russian conference on Modern Plastics Technology. Our university's experts discussed the establishment of a joint Russian-Chinese center for training specialists in the field of polymer processing on the basis of KNRTU.

The conference served as a platform for interaction between participants in the production and distribution chain of the polymer industry. Among the main topics were the role of commodity exchanges in setting prices for large-scale plastics, the elimination of trade barriers in the supply of plastic raw materials and products, and the tax policy of export regulation. Other topics included standards and certification of goods in export markets and comparative analysis of waste management systems in China and Russia.

The program included excursions to Chinese enterprises, cultural events, and a Chinese-Russian exhibition area.

KNRTU representatives visited leading industrial plants in Heilongjiang. An important part of the program was a visit to the Institute of High Technologies of the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, where Ildar Musin and Igor Volkov learned about the local equipment, research areas and projects. The result was a discussion of possible areas of cooperation and a roadmap for collaboration.

"The key focus was on creating a joint Russian-Chinese training center for polymer processing technology, where the foreign party provides equipment, and we use it to train highly qualified specialists and solve technical problems faced by consumers of such equipment. The main goal was to present the Institute of Polymers at the two largest Associations of Plastic Processors. It was important for us to make a statement at the conference, communicate with potential partners, and establish connections," commented Ildar N. Musin.

Within the framework of the conference, fruitful meetings were held with the management and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Association of Plastic Processors of the Russian Federation (APP), the company "Rosbiotech", Moscow Polytechnic University and the editorial office of the magazine "Plastics". Agreements on cooperation and implementation of joint projects were reached.

The conference in Harbin was organized by the China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA) and the Association of Plastic Processors of Russian Federation (APP).
