It trained specialists for research and development institutions, installation and repair companies, machine-building plants, chemical, agricultural, energy, and food and trade branches of industry. The first department chair was Albert Miftakhov, the winner of awards, such as, Honor Award in Science and Technology of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation, Doctor of Engineering, the member of International Academy of Refrigeration. Ibragim G. Khisameev has been at the position of the department Chair since 2000. He is Full Professor, Doctor of Engineering, member of International academy of Refrigeration and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, corresponding member of Tatarstan Academy of Science, chief executive officer of such engineering companies as JSC “Kazancompressormash” and JSC “Vacuummash”. The department Faculty published 700 research papers and received 14 inventor certificates, including monograph «Designing and Operation of Industrial Centrifugal Compressors» issued by Full Professor Khisameev and coauthors in 2010, manuscript «Inlet and Outlet Devices of Centrifugal Compressors» written by Full Professor Miftakhov in 1996. Group of authors including Ibraev A.M., Firsova Y. A., Khamidullin M.S., Khisameev I.G. wrote a textbook «Refrigeration Technologies and Processing Equipment in Food Industry». Academics The department runs the following programs: Bachelor Degree programs: - “Technology and Physics of Low Temperatures”: Specialists completed this program will be demand in research, companies performed industrial production, construction, food preservation and processing, commercial and comfort air conditioning, as well as in agriculture, medicine, and sport. - “Refrigeration Engineering and Machinery”: Students will obtain knowledge in refrigerating, cryogenic technology, and air conditioning. Ph.D. Degree program is also available: “Vacuum Engineering, Compressor Engineering and Pneumatic Systems”. Research: The main research topic is mathematical modeling based experimental and theoretical study of thermal gas dynamics in flow tubes for rotary and centrifugal compressors and optimization, including: - calculation methods of output device behavior for centrifugal stages using mathematic simulation; - experimental determination of characteristics for centrifugal and rotary stages after cooler and choice of the most effective constructions; - database on parameters of centrifugal stages after cooler and their elements; - experimental and theoretical research of flow and flow losses at fixed elements of centrifugal stage after cooler; - design and modernization of rotary compressor constructions; - design and introduction of fast-freezing machines into food processing plant; - design of containerized refrigerating machines for agriculture. Research and development works are carried out in cooperation with Scientific Research Institute “VNIIHolodmash” and leading machine-building plants including JSC “NIITurbocompressormash” named after V.B. Shnepp, JSC “Kazancompressormash”, Production Association “POZIS”, Scientific Production Association “Vacuummash”, and etc. |
