The Department was separated from the Department of Plastics Technology in 2004 to train specialists in filming/photographic material production, and graphic arts.

Academics

The Department runs Specialist Degree programs in “Technology of Filming/Photography Materials and Repronics” and “Graphic Arts Technology”, both of full-time and/or evening courses of study.

Research

The research at the Department is prevalent in the following fields:

• optimization of radiographic film performance characteristics;
• improvement of X-ray material sensitivity;
• enhancement of Ag-photographic picture on radiographic films;
• development of in-matrix-pigment-based laser materials;
• preparation and properties examination of magnetic polymer nanocomposites;
• enhancement of intensifying screen resolution.
