The Department was established in 1956 under the leadership of Professor V. Malishev. Since 1983, the Department has been chaired by Doctor of Technical Science, Full Professor Andrey V. Fafurin.

Academics

The Department runs Specialist Degree programs in “Collecting and Processing Data Automated Systems”.

The Department is equipped with laboratories in Circuitry Engineering and Industrial Electronics, which run computer engines and systems, microprocessing units of microcomputer, control and automation, engineering design of collecting and processing data automated systems. The laboratories are equipped with modern devices of automation, i.e., distributed microprocessing systems of MXL of YOCOGAWA firm being monitored by micro processing unit timekeepers “Remicont” and “Lomicont”.

Research

The Department is involved in different research oriented to solving fundamental and applied problems in the field of:

• information technologies and automatic control systems;
• physical metrology;
• thermal physics.

Such industry sectors as Russian Joint Stock Company “Gazprom”, Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Oil-extracting Industry and etc. formulate the proceeding research at the department.
