From 25 to 28 of September, in Bangkok (Thailand), a joint XXII international conference on interactive training in collaboration ICL and the 48th international conference on engineering pedagogics IGIP on the topic "The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Engineering Education" took place.
About 300 scientists from 39 countries took part in the conference. In total, more than 1000 applications were submitted. Each of them passed a rigorous two-stage expert selection.
During welcoming speech, the president of the International Society for Engineering Education IGIP Hanno Horsch noted that it’s necessary to hold continuing education courses for university professors. He emphasized that the future engineer should get along with the humanities very well.
Delegation from KNRTU, headed by acting Director of Further Vocational Education Institute, Mansur Galikhanov, participated actively in the conference. Seven delegates from the university presented 18 sectional reports and 10 poster presentations (for comparison: 10 and 4 the last year) prepared by 37 co-authors (20 the last year). All of them will be published by Springer Publishing House and placed on Scopus and WoS international citation databases. In addition, Svetlana Barabanova was entrusted with the moderation of one of the conference sections.
For KNRTU representatives, the event became part of the “Synergy-2019” International Network Conference. One of the presented reports (“International Network Conference as an Effective Way to Integrate Universities and Business in the Context of the Digital Economy” by a team of authors: S.V. Yushko, M.F. Galikhanov, S. V. Barabanova, A.A. Kaybiyaynen, M.S.Suntsova) was understandably devoted to the analysis of the effects of “Synergy”.
A number of reports dealt with the engineering education in general. Among such reports were “Engineering Education: Elite Education at the Technological University” (O.Yu. Khatsrinova, E.N. Tarasova, L.V. Ovsienko, S.V. Yushko, M.F. Galikhanov); “Engineering Education Through the Young Specialist’s Eyes: Information for Reflection” (Yu. Khatsrinova, O. Khatsrinova, E. Tarasova, V. Bronskaya, O. Seliverstova).
The other part of the reports was dedicated to the requirements for Engineering Education during the 4th Industrial Revolution. Particular attention was paid to modern educational technologies. Due to the development of academic mobility, a number of reports highlighted this phenomenon. Several reports dealt with the study of specific disciplines.
KNRTU participants returned to Kazan with 28 certificates of participation. All the 28 presented reports will be placed in the publication indexed by Scopus.
