The VII International Student Competition named after Professor Konstantin Bogatykh in the discipline of "Processes and Apparatuses of Chemical Technology" ended in Ufa. The Olympiad was organized by the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology of the USPTU Technical Faculty.
The team of KNRTU was awarded first place, sharing the honor with the hosts of the Competition. It is worth noting that last year our team also received diplomas for first place at the Ufa event.
This year, our team includes Anton Ragulin (Master's student of the Institute of Petroleum, Chemistry and Nanotechnologies, Department of General Organic and Petrochemical Synthesis Technology), Artem Mavrin (Master's student of the Institute of Automated Control Systems and Information Technologies, Department of Systems Engineering) and Danil Zapylkin (Master's student of the Institute of Petroleum, Chemistry and Nanotechnologies, Department of General Organic and Petrochemical Synthesis Technology).
Additionally, team members were awarded prizes in the individual competition. Anton came second, while Artyom came third. The official awarding of the Competition winners took place at the Russian Oil and Gas Chemical Forum and the XXXII International Specialized Exhibition ‘Gas. Oil. Technology’.
- The tasks were more interesting than in previous years, as they were developed on the basis of real cases of operating industrial companies, according to Anton Ragulin. The Competition has enabled us to identify areas for improvement in our preparation. We will work to address these issues. We would also like to thank Alexander Razinov and Alexander Malygin, Associate Professors of the Department of Chemical Process Engineering, for their invaluable assistance.
